Life Change Studio – A Transformational Week at Esalen

An experiential workshop offered by Fred Mandell, PhD and Nancy Fernandez Mills, CHC, RYT

Esalen – A Magical Place that Inspires Creativity and Enhances Well-Being

November 13 – 18  -  Big Sur, California

You can become a Life Change Artist!

Life is a process, unfolding in unexpected and often challenging ways.  But life’s challenges can become creative opportunities.  The Life Change Studio is based on both the art and science of personal change. You’ll learn the skills of the great masters of art, experience powerful mind/body practices and explore your own creativity.

Our foundational workshop introduces you to our unique Four Dimensional Personal Transformation Model and the Seven Core Creative Skills.

Artist Fred Mandell will lead you in creative activities such as collage, drawing and sculpture.  Nancy will offer gentle yoga, breath work, visualization and movement.  You’ll learn new concepts through short, informative lecturettes.  And you’ll integrate your learning through group conversation as well as personal reflection and journaling.

Nancy and Fred developed this unique experiential workshop to teach specific skills – skills that adults can develop and use daily to not only cope with the inevitable changes of midlife but to thrive in their fifties, sixties and beyond.

Fred Mandell, PhD is a national thought leader in the emerging area of Third Age Life Planning, a collected artist and sculptor and is the co-author with Kathy Jordan, PhD of “Becoming a Life Change Artist:  Seven Creative Skills To Reinvent Yourself at Any Stage of Life.” (Penguin Putnam Avery Books).

About Esalen:  The Esalen Institute was founded in 1962 as an alternative educational center devoted to the exploration of what Aldous Huxley called the “human potential,” the world of unrealized human capacities that lies beyond the imagination. Esalen soon became known for its blend of East/West philosophies, its experiential/didactic workshops, the steady influx of philosophers, psychologists, artists, and religious thinkers, and its breathtaking grounds blessed with natural hot springs. Once home to a Native American tribe known as the Essalen, Esalen is situated on 27 acres of spectacular Big Sur coastline with the Santa Lucia Mountains rising sharply behind. www.esalen.org
