About
Vitality. Community. Creativity. These are my passions at midlife. My mission is to help midlife adults live in a healthy, creative way and to avoid the lifestyle-induced diseases associated with aging. My personal mantra is create…connect…heal.
I believe that we can be vital at any age, that midlife and later years can be our most creative and that the deepest expression of vitality is personal creativity.
As part of my own midlife journey, I’ve pursued holistic healing. I’m a Certified Health Coach, Certified Kripalu Yoga teacher and yoga therapist. I offer personalized nutrition and wellness counseling and I teach yoga privately and in workshops.
I’m a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. I’ve studied mind/body health with Dr. Herbert Benson, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Andrew Weil and other international experts in Integrative Medicine.I’ve been certified in yoga and massage by the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and the Esalen Institute.
As a long-time writer and producer, I use my craft to: create written information, workshops and other content about nutrition, stress management and movement; connect with others seeking creative vitality; and, help heal individuals and society.
With artist Fred Mandell, I co-facilitate The Life Change Studio, a workshop to help people cope with major life transitions, discover a new purpose and live a more creative and healthier life.
My nutrition articles, blog posts and food videos for people with diabetes can be seen on the Healthy Living website and YouTube channel of Liberty Medical, the nation’s largest distributor of diabetes supplies.
As a television producer and book author, I’ve explored the “new longevity” as co-producer and co-host of the public television series Boomers! Redefining Life After Fifty and in the book Boomers! Funding Your Future in an Age of Uncertainty (co-authored with my husband Mark Mills, Kaplan Press).
I offer nutrition and health counseling at Volunteers in Medicine Berkshires, a free health clinic for adults in Western Massachusetts, where I also serve on the Board of Trustees.
